Are DVI cables compatible others?
I think the converter won't really cause much distortion itself, as all it takes the analogue signal from a DVI-I connection and remaps the connections into VGA. Due to the distance , little or no quality loss occurs.
In terms of using a VGA cable, it can make a large difference if you have a bad cable, however if you have a nice, thick one, the quality difference will be little or none.
